COMPLETE VISION AND EYE HEALTH EVALUATION

The eye assessment at our office can be broken down into 2 parts.

The first part is the vision test.  
It involves the use of lenses to determine the best prescription and vision possible for each individual patient.  

Second, and more importantly, is the eye health portion.  
Having 20/20 vision is no guarantee of a healthy eye. This portion involves some diagnostic eye health tests that allow the doctor to evaluate the present status of the eyes as well as the risk factors for change in the future. The necessary follow up and further testing required, as the basis of preventative eye care, will also be determined and clearly explained.

A needs analysis will be done so that individual eye wear recommendations can be made.

Specific testing involved:

•  Complete medical and ocular history

•  Visual acuity (sight testing)

•  Binocular vision evaluation (how the 2 eyes work together)

•  Refraction (precise prescription determination)

•  Internal and external ocular examination with pupil dilation if required (for the detection of eye disease and signs of possible systemic disease)

•  Eye pressure evaluation

•  Final diagnosis, recommendation and prescription
